When I was thinking of ideas of what to do draw I wanted to do something that had to do with the season and that’s why I picked pumpkins. I thought that it would be cute and kind of easy. When I first started this project I was just going to do one pumpkin and I was going to do a under layer in colored pencil and then oil pastel on top of that. When I did the first started to do the final drawing I did it on black paper because I thought that it would be bright and stand out on that paper. Once I got close to finishing that one pumpkin it didn’t look like a real pumpkin, it looks like a fake one that you would see in a cartoon. I got help from Mrs. Rossi and the people at my table to come up with a better idea and help on how to make it look real. I ended up doing four pumpkins and having shadows on top of the pumpkins and I did it on brown paper. The people at my table helped me show where the pumpkin went in and how to make the shadows not too hard but make sure that they were there. I learned not to be scared with dark and light colors because they really help bring out the detail in the piece. I also learned that you can’t use too much pressure at first because you have to add for color and you can’t if you start out with too much color.
